Kikizo: Can you tell us a little bit about the story and the characters; and just give us a general overview of what the single-player game world is like?
Miyoshi: There are three totally different kinds of planets in PSU. The hero, named Ethan Waber, is a member of the 'guardians', kind of a defense organisation to defend against invasion. He's traveling with his allies as he progresses through the adventure, facing enemies and battles in order to fight for freedom.
Kikizo: With Phantasy Star on the Dreamcast, you had four players - is this something that will continue in Phantasy Star Universe, or is it structured differently?
Miyoshi: In PSU there are more parties than in the PSO parties, more than four people you can travel with, but I am still considering the final features.
Kikizo: You said previously, or I think Naka-san may have said, that PlayStation 2 was chosen as the platform because it has a much larger audience. Are there any conversions for other next-generation formats for Phantasy Star Universe, because obviously it started on Dreamcast and Universe moves onto PC too, so it's quite an agnostic series...?
Miyoshi: I have to consider the next-generation type...
Kikizo: Do you mean you would consider next-gen for Phantasy Star Universe itself or another game?
Miyoshi: I am considering making Phantasy Star Universe on a next-generation platform.
Kikizo: Cool. What would you say are the biggest similarities between the Phantasy Star Online games that we've seen over the last few years, and Phantasy Star Universe?
Miyoshi: Phantasy Star Universe started from the next step of Phantasy Star Online. Many good points of PSO will be carried on in PSU and many things should be enhanced from PSO.
Kikizo: Can you tell us about the new additions that you've made to the gameplay?
Miyoshi: I cannot talk about the new features. But in singleplayer, much is enhanced from PSO; over 40 hours of gameplay. Online play in PSO is just considered short-span, but in the PSU I am just considering the long span.
