E3 2003: MGS3 Screens & Footage
Konami has mistakenly let the snake out of the bag. Metal Gear Solid 3: The Snake Eater revealed inside, in the first ever screens and stunning, direct-feed footage.
In what is either a big cock-up or an everyday marketing stunt, Konami is likely to be either very angry or rubbing its hands with a big smile, as the first ever footage of MGS3: The Snake Eater (as it's now called) has hit the web.
The trailer, which you should download below NOW, has been unofficially confirmed as 'the real thing' by Konami. In any case it is far too amazing to be a fake video. We suspect that the full trailer will be longer at E3, as this video weighs in at only one and a half minutes - previous MGS2 trailers have been closer to ten minutes.
The new title, MGS3, sees the hero Solid Snake return - but this time to a jungle setting. The trailer starts off with Snake literally eating a snake in the jungle as a means of survival. Before long, he's in all kinds of mischief, in full-scale shoot outs and sniper action. He's even chased by a pack of whild animals, before jumping off a cliff down a waterfall in awesome cinematic style.
The effects - particularly with regards to the many water areas that are seen here - are as mind blowing now as MGS2 was when it was first revealed. The orchestral theme tune returns, with a few artistic tweaks. You'll hear in in this vid in stereo.
Stay tuned for all the latest on MGS3: The Snake Eater as it breaks.
