Sega Rally 3: Ready to Go
Sega Rosso's much anticipated sequel in the phenomenal Sega Rally series has been finished for some time - and is almost ready to ship to arcades. Details inside.
Whilst we've known about the existence of Sega Rally 3 for some time now, we didn't know much about the status of the project, until today.
The third in the series has been developed by Sega Rosso and promises some of the most gripping racing action the arcades have seen in some time. Members of the Inital D team at Sega Rosso have been working on the project which bodes well, since Initial D is ferociously playable and continues to grow in popularity.
Today we can reveal some details that will please fans of the series, and arcade racing fanatics alike. Our source, which is very close to Sega Amusements, told us under conditions of anonymity, "Sega Rally 3 has actually been completely finished since January this year. The reason nothing's been shown yet is they need to finalise some licensing issues that are still outstanding." Asking about the quality of the game, we were told: "Sasaki and the team have outdone themselves."
An official announcement is likely, therefore, in the coming weeks or months - with a PlayStation 2 conversion literally waiting to be officially confirmed for first quarter 2004.
