Tekken 5: Direct Feed Gameplay Videos
Exclusive hi-res 60fps videos of the best Tekken game ever, as played by one of the world's top players!
It wouldn't be unfair to say that many followers of the immensely popular Tekken series were a little disappointed with Tekken 4, which for the first time since the series' competitive history with Sega's Virtua Fighter, lost hands-down to its newest rival with various incarnations of VF4, in terms of popularity. And while Tekken Tag Tournament remains popular in arcades, it really is about time fans of Namco's most ferocious of franchises got back on track. Tekken 5 is surely the answer.
Boasting easily the best graphics the series has ever seen, Tekken 5 looks spectacular with our favourite stage being temple courtyard that is literally burning down around you, complete with snazzy heat blur effect. The skyscraper stage demonstrates the power of the engine behind the new title, with great draw distance and no technical hiccups to be found. It looks ace and we prove it with these exclusive videos.
You'll also get a good idea of how the game sounds, with great new thumping techno beats. But best of all you get to see one of the world's top beat-'em-up players doing his thing with Kazuya. UK-based Ryan Hart is a global Tekken and Virtua Fighter champion and gets to grips with the latest game in what seems to be a pretty hardcore fashion - not that we'd really know. Unfortunately, most of these videos are just Kazuya vs Kazuya fights, but what the hell, at least you get to see a wide range of game background and top quality play.
These direct feed videos are 640x480 at 2Mbps and are also the latest in our blistering 60fps range, which for those of you who missed recent examples, means you'll need a decently specced PC and preferably run Windows Media Player 10 to get smooth 60fps playback.
Stay tuned for more on Tekken 5 as it rolls out into arcades later this month and comes to PS2 sometime next year. We can already hear the raging debates about how good the conversion may or may not be...
