Free DS Online Gaming for Stockbrokers
They've got the power, and now they've stumbled into free online play too.
London's City workers could soon find themselves with a lot more to distract them than the ups and downs of the fickle stock market. Wireless Internet access provider The Cloud has revealed that it will expand its coverage area to include the high traffic area, according to a report at ABC Money via games site British Gaming Blog.
And while the move is being made to "maintain our position as the world's leading international financial centre," according to the chairman of the City Of London Corporation, it comes as a boon to Nintendo, which has signed a deal with The Cloud to provide free WiFi access for DS gamers, letting them play Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World and more online for no charge.
Nintendo recently unveiled a stand-alone Web browser made by tech company Opera for the DS. Sources close to the company told Kikizo the company is talking with The Cloud to extend the service to allow free wireless access to the Internet through the DS.
The expanded coverage is expected to be available in the City within the next few months, just in time for the debut of Nintendo's online-enabled version of life-stealer Tetris for the DS.
