Disgaea 2 Warms Up for Autumn
Just the thing if you've got a couple hundred hours to spare. First screens.
The first Disgaea game offered enough depth that most people probably didn't even begin to scratch at the acreage made available to them by developer Nippon Ichi. Nevertheless, Koei is bringing the game's sequel to Europe later this year.
While the core of the game is still made of the type of RPG gameplay that has fans of depth drooling with delight, Disgaea 2 is all about having a good time being bad using the game's evil-on-training-wheels brand of mischievousness.
While you'll see a lot of familiar faces in Disgaea 2, the bulk of the story concentrates on a new protagonist. The Item World, where you can upgrade your equipment, returns too, and it's been reworked to make it even more challenging.
No surprise then that the developers are expecting the game to be twice as big as the previous version, which means you could be spending around 200 hours of your life making the most butt-kicking weapons you can imagine.
Look for Disgaea 2 to arrive in Europe sometime this autumn.
