Resident Evil Duo Slashes Into the Wii
The GameCube hit and another shooter are coming to Nintendo's console.
Just like the GameCube, the six-month-old Wii is quickly building a reputation as the place to go for approachable, family-friendly fare. And just like the GameCube, Resident Evil will spoil that perception with a splattering of mature content for the console.
Capcom confirmed via a Famitsu article that it is bringing GameCube hit Resident Evil 4 to Nintendo's fledgling console, IGN reports. Players will be able to shoot, reload and slice using the Wii remote. The game, which is out in Japan at the end of May, will also include the extra content originally added for 2005's PlayStation 2 version.
And there's more. Joining Resident Evil 4 on the Wii is another game called Biohazard: Umbrella Chronicles. (Resident Evil is known as Biohazard in Japan.) Reminiscent of previous light-gun Resident Evil games, this is reportedly a first-person on-rails arcade-style shooter where players blast zombies away while being moved from room to room. The game stars original Resident Evil characters Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.
Capcom has not officially announced details for the game in the West and could not comment for this story by press time.
