Gran Turismo Mobile and GT5 Dated
Mysterious PSP outing for GT mentioned.
When PSP was announced more than four years ago (scary how time flies), one of the flagship games nestled at its side, and purported to be a title that would debut with the system's release, was Gran Turismo Mobile.
The game has been shrouded in mystery and nothing has been seen or mentioned about it ever since, leading many to speculate that it never existed and was just a mock-up to help support the announcement of PSP.
But in addition to the news from Famitsu magazine that Gran Turismo 5 is set for release on PlayStation 3 in Japan next July, it's also reported that GT Mobile will finally see a release on PSP before then.
Gaming site The Magic Box reported that Best Car magazine interviewed GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi, who stated that the PSP edition of his beloved series would be released prior to GT5 for the PS3.

So if it was indeed a mock-up all along, they'd better get a move on with its development. As for a release outside of Japan, it's difficult to see either game hitting shelves here before 2009, judging by Polyphony's track record.
Of course, it's usually worth the wait when it comes to Gran Turismo.
