Ever battled KILLER HEADPHONES as a GUINEA PIG?
In a new game from none other than Disney, that's just one of many ludicrous situations you'll find yourself in...
The Internet is not new to hamster jokes. One of online's most referenced animals when we're in need of a giggle, it's right up there with the LOLcat.
But when we saw screenshots of Disney's upcoming G-Force video game, including the one below showing a lead character (admittedly a guinea pig, not a hamster), shooting several pairs of attacking EVIL KILLER HEADPHONES, you have to pay attention. It's like something straight out of a Tim Schafer game.
But it's not a Tim Schafer game, it's actually based on the new 3D animated film from Jerry Bruckheimer, and looks pretty good.
It's a comedy adventure about a covert government program to train animals to work in espionage (obviously). Armed with the latest high-tech spy equipment, these highly trained guinea pigs discover that the fate of the world is in their... paws!
Its got talent such as Sam Rockwell, Tracy Morgan, Penelope Cruz, Nicolas Cage, Jon Favreau and Bill Nighy doing the voices, and the makers are promising a "high-octane thrill ride - proving once and for all that size really doesn't matter". But what of the game?
G-Force the game is described as "fast-paced action-platform" and puts players in control of both Darwin, the guinea pig leader of the covert intelligence G-Force squad, and housefly surveillance sidekick, Mooch, as they team up with the other G-Force agents to complete a dangerous high-level government mission.
G-Force is aiming to deliver a unique sense of scale, and puzzle solving that requires players to manipulate environments and enemies, including diabolical waffle irons among evil household appliances. It's also got new enemies, weapons and locations not seen in the film. Expect to see it in stores right about now on all platforms - PS3, 360, Wii, PC, DS, PSP and even the good old PS2.
In keeping with the whole comedy thing, the makers have released this video. Check it out while we ponder the truth about size not mattering.
