Virtual On Marz: New Screens & Details
Sega's Hitmaker studio has revealed new screens and details for Virtual On Marz, coming soon to your PS2.
Sega's ferociously addictive Virtual On series gets its latest instalment on PlayStation later this year - on May 29 in Japan, it emerged today.
Hitmaker have also dished out some new screens from the PlayStation 2 version. They're not very big, but if you've never seen the game before, they give you an idea of the kind of action on offer. Many titles have attempted to imitate Virtual On's style since the game first appeared in 1995.
Recently, when we spoke to Hitmaker's President Hisao Oguchi, he indicated that a 'true' new Virtual On sequel is in the pipeline, whereas Marz is considered to be more of a 'side story'.
Sega have said that no 'twin sticks' will be available for the game on PS2, as is found on all Virtual On arcade units. However, the Dual Shock 2 control pad should keep the experience in tact.
The game is expected to hit the US and Europe later this year, and is the latest in Sega's recent and forthcoming line-up of quality arcade conversions, including VF4 Evo, the fantastic, distinctly styled racer Initial D, expected next month, and of course Virtua Cop 3.
