The Sims Arrives on Console
Electronic Arts has shipped The Sims for the Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, so you can forget about playing it on a piddly monitor.
With your console, you can now create and control your Sims with level-based gameplay, two-player modes, and dynamic 3D graphics.
Sinjin Bain, VP & Exec Producer at EA's Maxis studio, offered: "The unique and challenging experience of The Sims is now available on all next-generation console platforms. After the wildly successful launch of The Sims on the PlayStation 2, we are excited to bring the zany and creative gameplay of The Sims to Xbox and GameCube players."
The Xbox and GC versions will allow you to use all the new features, such as the new level-based mode, "Get a Life," where you take one Sim and stick with them through moving out of Mom's place, getting a job, and starting a family. You'll also have the ability to unlock objects exclusive to the consoles.
For instance, a love tub and aromamaster to spice up your Sims life (or yours, whichever). And of course there's always the standard open-ended gameplay, for those of us who fear change.
You can also interact with a new cast of off-the-wall characters, like a Monkey Butler to meet your every need... well, just about every need. But wait, there's more. Sim customization has obtained a boost as well, with a slew of new accessories and clothes. And if you're not quite satisfied with the way that hat looks on your Sim, you have the ability to change it mid-game. And as mentioned before, you can even play against your best friend (or nemesis) in two-player modes.
