Need for Speed Underground: Details
High-stakes racing the way it was always meant to be - on the streets. EA's announced a new Need for Speed - here are the details.
EA today announced that their latest in the Need for Speed series will allow you to enter the adrenaline-filled world of high performance street racing in Need for Speed Underground.
Unlike the others in the NfS franchise, this game features a breakthrough sensation of speed, developed by an Oscar nominated special effects expert, as well as a spectacular graphic presentation showcasing their exciting line-up of licensed cars and aftermarket performance parts (mods) from top manufacturers.
Undergrond allows you to build and remodel your car until it becomes an exotic and rare powerhouse, utilizing the unique mods. This of course can only be done by riding your baby in events to earn cash to pay for those customizing kits. Of course all the expensive modifications in the world can't make up for mix of skill, attitude, and razor sharp driving skills it takes to compete in the tough world of urban racing.
Need for Speed Underground features a number of diverse events set in gritty, nighttime environments that make up the heart of street competition. You become a complete street racer by perfecting skills in each event - whether it's nailing the perfect shift in drag racing, putting your street cred on the line, or racing through the city streets late at night.
Also featuring 20 fully customizable licensed cars from Mitsubishi Motors, Subaru, Toyota and other top manufacturers, there are hundreds of ways to customize your ride. Aftermarket parts from dozens of providers include AEM Inc., Audiobahn, Bilstein, Dazz Motorsport, DC Sports, Eibach, Enkei, GReddy Performance Products Inc., HKS, Holley, Injen, Jackson Racing, MOMO, Neuspeed, Nitrous Express Inc., O.Z. s.P.a., PIAA, Skunk2 Racing, Sparco, StreetGlow, and Turbonetics Inc.
Need for Speed Underground is being developed by EA Black Box and is scheduled for release in early 2004 on the PS2, GameCube, GBA, and the Xbox.
