Killzone: First Screens Emerge
First screenshots have emerged from Sony's soon-to-be-announced firsparty FPS, Killzone. Low quality, but it looks stunning... details inside.
With firstperson shooters enjoying more popularity than ever before, Sony are entering the fray with a definitive FPS of their own. Heralded as Sony's "Halo beater" within certain industry circles, Killzone (previously known as Kin) is being developed by Amsterdam-based Lost Boys, and is an extremely promising project.
Whilst no official announcement has been made yet, we expect official confirmation and first proper screens around the time of ECTS, when Sony will hold their second PlayStation Experience event alongside the annual London show.
In the meantime, these scanned images have been doing the rounds, and seem to indicate a high level of depth and detail in the gameplay scenes they depict.
With firstperson shooters literally overflowing this year however, it will be difficult for Killzone to compete - but off-the-record, Sony have been known to promise big things with Killzone. As ever, we'll keep you posted.
