Gotham 2 Buzz Grows: More Screens
Unsurprisingly, Bizarre Creations' latest batch of Gotham screens look even better than the last set. You must see these.
Excitement surrounding Project Gotham Racing 2 is getting a bit ridiculous now. Just like when the original Metropolis Street Racer was released, gamers are getting slightly hot under the collar at the prospect of racing around real cities in real cars.
Just as London gamers could hardly contain themselves about burning around their home city with MSR, New Yorkers were salivating at the prospect of racing around places like Times Square in photo-realism with the original Project Gotham.
Well, thanks to what is likely a much bigger budget than Bizarre ever had before, the team has gone into overdrive a bit with at least at least ten cities included - which will combine to offer some 500+ circuits.
As well as the pixel-perfect recreations of New York, London, Tokyo and San Francisco, Gotham 2 will include Barcelona, Edinburgh, Florence, Chicago and Moscow - opening up a new level of excitement to the series. But it's not just the number of cities you race in that'll leave other racing games in the dust early next year...
In fact, the latest word from Bizarre Creations is that the number of cities will actually be fourteen cities, with the inclusion of Hong Kong, Stockholm, Sydney, Washington D.C. and Yokohama! We can only imagine the number of circuits exceeding 1,000 at this rate.
A tweaked Kudos system that recognises your style, full and enormous Xbox Live compatibility, ultra-addictive main-game challenges and bonus racing modes, an overflowing vehicle roster including the likes of the Enzo Ferrari, Porsche GT2 and BMW Z4, more awesome licensed hip-hop and R&B beats that before - and perhaps vitally, full-on car damage - will also ensure that Gotham 2 is THE racing game to own on Xbox. It's pretty much already decided.
We'll be bringing you an updated hands-on report with PGR2 in a couple of weeks when we test drive the very latest version of code at X03 - so stay with us.
