RalliSport Challenge 2: First Footage

X03: We bring you some hi-res shaky cam footage of Rallisport Challenge 2 from this year's definitive Xbox event.

At this year's X03 event in France, Microsoft announced RalliSport Challenge 2 and showed the first ever footage, which you can download here in shaky-cam of justice mode. Actually it's not that shaky at all, as anyone familiar with our video coverage will be aware.

Two years after the smash hit RalliSport Challenge wowed racing fans with photorealistic graphics and intense gameplay, RalliSport Challenge 2 has more than just a new paint job. RalliSport Challenge 2 boasts a new graphics engine, online play through, the ability to set up leagues and tournaments with XSN, new race modes, and more cars and tracks.

"Racing fans, especially those who thrive on the excitement of rally racing, have a real challenge in store with RalliSport Challenge 2," said Michel Cassius. "Now gamers can REALLY go off-road and onto Xbox Live, where thanks to XSN Sports gamers can set up their own rally leagues, check their progress on XSNSports.com, and even play in large-scale tournaments."

RalliSport Challenge 2 is being developed by Digital Illusions and combines all of the action of the various rally sports into one game. The game "embodies the energy, passion, and thrill of rally racing", according to Microsoft.

As the first racing title in the new XSN Sports brand, gamers can compete in the virtual sports league, setting up a rally league on XSNsports.com. The game will feature five unique rally sports, including the new Crossover duel that tests a driver's skill and stomach for danger with extreme speeds on tracks that could send even the best driver on a collision course with disaster.

RC2 will feature more than 40 of the most challenging rally cars including the infamous group B cars that were banned because of uncontrollable horsepower. Gamers will be able to make minor modifications to each car to meet the challenge of each track. Locations include different tracks from Australia, and the frozen Nordic and the Pacific Northwest.
