Sonic Heroes Saves Best For Last
Sonic's flagship showing at the Tokyo Game Show offered nothing we hadn't already seen - but new evidence points to stunning unseen levels. 26 new screens inside.
One of Sega's flagship titles at their TGS stand this year was predictably Sonic Heroes, the all-platforms Sonic debut that offers three characters playable at once, from a set of four different Sonic threesomes.
However, the TGS demo was practically identical as versions already seen and playable at E3 and Microsoft's recent X03 event. Only two levels were playable - the opening Forest stage, and level seven - where characters are seen grinding along rails in a massive rocky canyon setting.
However, sources at Sega who've played the 90% complete version of the game with unrestricted access to all levels, have kept us guessing by telling us that Sonic Heroes looks even more amazing the further you progress.
"In the later levels of the game, it looks so much better than what's been shown already," our Sega source told us. "But Naka-san and the Sonic Team don't want to reveal all the best bits of the game too early."
