Codemasters Gets Downhill Domination
With SCEE inexplicably taking a rain check on Incog, Inc's stunning Downhill Domination, Codies rides in to save the day for PAL gamers.
Codemasters today annoucned the signing of a deal with Incog, creators of Twisted Metal: Black, confirming they have secured the PAL distrubution rights with SCEA for the highly rated extreme sports title Downhill Domination.
Scheduled for launch in spring 2004, Downhill Domination is frenetic, fast paced and the first downhill mountain bike racing game. It features 14 riders battling it out on nine epic mountain ranges across 27 courses in a mad race to reach the finish line first. It's up to you to pick the best way down the mountainside because, while there is a clearly defined path to follow, it may not be the quickest.
The terrain ranges from snowy mountains and twisting forest tracks through to urban jungles and lava-strewn rock formations. Interactive elements abound on the tracks, all designed to present further challenges to the riders, including dynamic weather effects, wildlife, vehicles and ramblers.
On the way down, thanks to a fully upgradeable combat system, riders with their wits about them will be able to launch projectiles, throw punches and kicks and even use the bikes themselves to unseat their opponents and stuff up their run.
Downhill Domination boasts a comprehensive trick system, with over 30 different moves that can be chained into combos, and is sponsored by real-world mountain biking equipment manufacturers. Canny players will get stuck into the Career mode in the game, upgrading bike parts, gaining cash-rich sponsorships and new clothing and generally giving themselves an advantage over other players with their superior kit.
