PSP: First Ever Concept Model Unveiled
Sony have unveiled the first ever images of the PlayStation Portable - but the design is subject to change.
Literally in the last hour or so, Sony Corporation held an investor's meeting and invited several executives to make presentations to shareholders. Key to their entertainment push was Ken Kutaragi, explaining how digital entertainment will work 'tomorrow'.
His presentation consisted of the first ever PSP concept design. Since the machine was announced at E3 back in May, there has been a lot of speculation about what the machine might look like. Well now the time for guesswork is over, with these first official images.
As you can see, the unit looks very smart, with a centralised disc mounting system for UMD media, a large wide screen as expected, and importantly, a nice shiny gloss to the unit. It looks like you'll even be able to see the disc spinning from the rear of the unit. The buttons seem a bit on the flat side though. The Walkman of the 21st Century? Only time will tell.
Stay tuned for more on PSP. There might be some follow-up information forthcoming later today.
