NiGHTS Designer Promises Sequel
Or, at least, a new Nights game. Sonic Team's Takashi Iizuka says as long as he's at Sega, he'll get a Nights game made.
In an interview with EGM, Sega's Takashi Iizuka has spoken about the possibility of a new game in the Nights series, eight years after the ferociously fanboy loved NiGHTS: Into Dreams on the Saturn.
"I have some very strong, loyal fans out there, and I promise that as long as I'm with Sega I will create Nights again... I just don't know when. There are no plans as of now. The more I hear from the fans about their love for the game, the more reasons I have to consider it as my next project."
We're tempted to give you his direct email address but that might not be appropriate.
Meanwhile, Yuji Naka has said nothing new on the status of the franchise. After Nights appeared in a slew of recent Sonic Team games including Sonic Pinball Party, Sonic Heroes and PSO2, the team is still thinking of him, but Naka-san has been known to state it would be hard to "recreate the magic".
We think that Sonic Team, which is based in America to "focus on the global market" according to Iizuka, should get on with it.
