Max Payne Hits Game Boy Advance
Rockstar's Max Payne arrives in Europe on handheld format, and it's not half bad. Plus: Max Payne 3 confirmed.
Rockstar's fantastic Max Payne franchise (see our review of the latest console iteration here) arrives in Europe next week on GBA, after a lengthy two month waiting time from the US.
The handheld version stays true to its daddy, offering the same thirdperson action adventure with bullet time gun jumping aplenty, in a sizable portable game spread across 12 chapters.
Max Payne is the revenge-driven story of a fugitive cop with nothing to lose. Max can choose from over 8 weapons as he fights his way through genuinely intense levels, filled with some of New York City's most sinister inhabitants. By utilizing bullet time, players can gain an edge over their enemies with Max Payne's slow motion gunplay technique. Max Payne's classic graphic novel scenes return to tell this twisted story of deception and despair.
We're not covering GBA releases comprehensively at the moment but Max Payne is definitely worth a mention. Check out how the game looks in its GBA form in the video below.
More good news for the series arrived today as Take-Two CEO Jeff Lapin confirmed there will be a Max Payne 3. Speaking at a conference, he revealed: "I think we'll take a few years to make the next one that much more spectacular, is what we have to do, but its clearly a brand that everybody knows, and there will be another Max Payne."
