Killzone Maker Working on PS3 & PSP
Guerrilla will start working exclusively on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable games soon - hot details inside!
It was today announced in London that Amsterdam-based Guerrilla, the developer of the massively anticipated Killzone, has strengthened its relationship with Sony Computer Entertainment.
Despite developing another war-based shooter, ShellShock: Nam '67, to be published by Eidos on Xbox and PC as well as PS2, it today transpires that Guerrilla - one of the most talked-about developers in the world right now - will be working exclusively with Sony from now on.
The newly announced deal means that Guerrilla will not only continue to work on Killzone for the PlayStation 2, but will take their knowledge and expertise to begin development on several new titles on "future Sony platforms".
And as one of Sony's elite and exclusive teams, this means Guerrilla will be among the first in the world developing for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable - which will be quite soon, by all accounts, with development kits already in use at high-ranking internal studios. The relationship will be exclusively with Sony.
Guerrilla MD, Hermen Hulst, revealed: "We are looking forward to working exclusively with SCEE, applying our talent and technology to new platforms in order to establish Guerrilla as one of the finest development studios in Europe." Meanwhile, Sony's Phil Harrison offered: "Our production and creative teams can work even more closely with Guerrilla going forward."
Killzone will be on show at this year's E3 - we'll be bringing you much more before then. Stay tuned.
