More on Paper Mario 2, New Screens
Nintendo officially releases the first hi-res screens from Mario's next GameCube outing. New details inside.
Since popping up on April 1 in last week's Famitsu, the return of Paper Mario has been welcomed by GameCube owners everywhere. It will certainly do until the expected (demanded?) announcement of Mario 128 next month.
A key change in Paper Mario 2 will be the battle system, which combines both action elements and turns-based elements. After commanding an attack via a turns-based menu system, further input dictates the way in which your attack or technique will take effect, while additional strategy element adds further variables to the scenario.
You can look forward to lots of Mario styled mini games, including a quiz show and challenges involving other characters from the Mario world, including Peach and giant Koopas.
You'll need to stock up on supplies as you progress through the game, purchasing health to keep things going smoothly, along with a range of power ups - represented by badges - that give Mario special fighting abilities.
Expect many characters from the world of Mario to make an appearance through the game. Look forward to further details as we approach E3 next month.
