Backyard Wrestling 2: Details & Screens
Eidos today announced the sequel to last year's Don't Try This At Home. First info and pics.
Eidos today announced its return to the world of extreme wrestling with Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood. Here are the first ever details and screens.
The sequel to Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home, is being developed by Paradox and will be available for PlayStation 2 and Xbox this autumn.
There Goes The Neighborhood boasts an extensive list of new features including online play, a completely revamped wrestling and animation system and massively improved graphics. The implementation of the new 'Enviro-Mental' engine delivers an unprecedented level of interaction with environments, objects and non-player characters. Standing and ground-based submissions, multi-position grappling, a block button and an improved body part specific damage system all add to the carnage!
Players will battle through both an enhanced single player experience, complete with death matches and a "quest for the belt" mode, or the ever popular, greatly expanded multi-player scenarios. The addition of online gameplay places the mayhem of BYW2 directly in your living room. Talk trash straight to your opponent using the USB Headset and establish yourself as the number one wrestler with the complete online ladder bracketing system.
The list of licensed backyard brawlers has grown immensely, including stars from the explosive home video series, as well as some of the craziest pro wrestlers to ever set foot in a ring. The completely redesigned "create-a-wrestler" system allows gamers to create their own alter-ego including tattoos, face paint, customised clothing, and more.
Eidos says that the inclusion of online play will finally allow gamers to deliver pain to opponents from around the world, ofering the "complete wrestling package." Stay tuned for more - probably from E3 next month where it will face stiff competition.
