Metroid Prime 2: Official Screenshots
Yet another hot sequel for E3 picks up pace... First official screens of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Here are the first officially released screens from the sequel to one of GameCube's most accomplished firstparty titles to date, Metroid Prime. The forthcoming sequel has also been given a new name: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Solid details on Metroid Prime 2: Echoes are still lacking, but you should be able to piece together a idea of what's going on from these screens and also the media we brought you after the game's first unveiling almost a year ago.
Samus must travel to a planet torn into light and darkness. Hunted by a mysterious entity and a warring race called the Ing, she must explore the light and dark worlds of this doomed planet to discover secrets and augment her suit's weapons and abilities.
So, as Nintendo's website points out, for the first time in the history of the celebrated Metroid franchise, up to four players can battle each other as they search for weapons, grapple across ceilings, and turn into Morph Balls to make their escapes.
A screenshot recently scanned from Game Informer confirmed that Retro Studios' massively anticipated sequel will boast multiplayer functionality for at least four players - and that screen is now available in 'better quality' - which is exciting, of course.
Expect Metroid Prime 2 to be one of the biggest GameCube software products on show next month.
