E3 2004: SCEA Line-Up Revealed
The unofficial, official line-up as mistakenly posted on the official PlayStation website. Full details.
In yet another demonstration of Sony web monkey incompetence, PlayStation.com's E3 section (which has hastily been taken offline at the time of writing) has inadvertedly revealed the line-up of pretty much every game scheduled to be on show at Sony's stand. The firstparty line-up is as follows.
- Jak 3 - the third and final instalment in the character action adventure series from Naughty Dog, billed as "by far" the best episode.
- Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal - Amusingly subtitled third instalment of Insomniac's popular (and extremely good) character action / platform series.
- Killzone - Guerrilla-developed, war-themed first-person shooter, set to be massive at the show, and going head-to-head with Halo 2 in the hype stakes.
- Gran Turismo 4 - Much anticipated racing simulation gets its second E3 showing, hoping to wow crowds as it did last year with new courses on show.
- The Getaway 2 - sequel to 2002's massively hyped London gangster adventure game, developed by Sony's London studio (formerly Team Soho).
- Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves - another character action sequel from Sucker Punch Productions, "a journey of thievery, and a plot full of surprising twists".
- Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain - another title to get its second E3 showing. Developed by Sony Bend, the fourth and final game in the Syphon Filter series.
- Formula 1 2004 - announced last week, the only officially licensed game of the FIA F1 World Championship - the second official F1 title to be published by Sony.
- World Tour Soccer 2005 - released as This is Football in Europe, and confusingly, already released in the States too.
- Hot Shots Golf: Fore! - Already out in Japan - the fourth in the crazy and arcadey golf game from Clap Hanz, now to be published by SCEA it seems.
- Rise of the Kisai - Rumoured to be a sequel of sorts to last years The Mark of Kri, from Bottle Rocket.
- Siren - already released in Japan, and as Forbidden Siren in Europe.
- MLB 2005 - annual sports update.
- NHL Hockey 2005 - annual sports update.
- Dark Cloud 3 - From hot-stuff studio Level 5 comes the sequel to one of PS2's greatest RPGs, Dark Chronicle.
- God of War - revealed at a recent SCEA press event, at Sony's Santa Monica studio - a game set in Ancient Greece where you must kill Aries - the Greek God of War.
- Champions: Return to Arms - sequel to Champions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuest from Snowblind Studios. Promises new storyline, two new playable races, and online functionality. Published under Sony Online Entertainment.
- ATV Offroad Fury 3 - the racing franchise returns in this Climax developed sequel to be published by Sony it seems. Not to be confused with Crash 'n' Burn, the recently announced Eidos published title, also in development at Climax.
- Arc The Lad - unknown exactly what this product will be, perhaps an online version of the existing Twilight of the Spirits game.
- Athens Summer Olympics - official game of the Olympics publisher under Sony's 989 sports brand.
Expect fully comprehensive coverage from Sony's stand at E3 this year, including a series of hot video interviews.
