ShellShock: Nam '67: New Trailer
Forget Medals. Forget Honour. Just Survive! So shouts the new trailer from Eidos' ShellShock.
Here's the latest footage from ShellShock: Nam '67, the potentially massive FPS being developed simultaneously with Killzone at Guerrilla in Amsterdam. The realistic shooter depicts the true horrors of the Vietnam War for the first time in a video game.
ShellShock focuses on one man's experience of the most controversial war of modern times. You take on the role of a rookie soldier on his first tour of duty as he experiences the fear, chaos and atrocities of the Vietnam War.
In what might be construed as a dig at EA, following the swagging of the TimeSplitters franchise, the title boasts: "Forget Medals... Forget Honour. Just survive." It could equelly be nothing to do with Medal of Honour of course, and merely refer to Vietman. Moving on...
Powered by Guerrilla's ground-breaking technology, ShellShock: Nam '67 delivers a graphically harrowing depiction of the terror of combat. You must fight your way through a variety of missions ranging from large scale battlefield encounters with the North Vietnamese Army to stealth-based missions such as assassinating a VC General.
Although developed in the same building as Killzone, the two projects are entirely separate - when Sony employees have been visiting the studio, they have been told to "look away" when passing the place where ShellShock had been in secret development
We'll be bringing you our impressions of ShellShock and Killzone next week.
