E3 2004: Doom 3 Xbox Screens & Info
Vicarious Visions' conversion gets two new screens as further details on the formidable conversion emerge.
Activision has released two new screens of the Xbox version of E3, set to be playable on the show floor at E3 next week. They depict a more impressive conversion that some has expected after seeing some of the first Xbox screens released last week by the conversion team at Vicarious Visions.
The Xbox version will be pretty much the same as the massive forthcoming PC title, although some levels will be trimmed down in areas to run on the significantly less RAM offered by the console compared to high end PCs.
However the Xbox port will go one up on its big brother by providing cooperative play, along with Xbox Live and system link support for two players. The lack of split-screen multiplayer is to be expected with a game of such visual intensity, but four-player multiplayer over Live or using the multitap is also confirmed.
The PC version will not appear at the show, Activision has revealed, but the Xbox conversion will be prominent on Activision's booth next week. We'll have hands-on impressions for you then - so stay right here!
