E3 2004: Colin Drives Codies Line-Up
Codemasters line-up to include the new Colin McRae game along with IndyCar Series 2005 and the Club Footbal 2005 series.
Codemasters has announced its E3 line-up, and also revealed it will offer a Big Brother style view of its E3 showcase via a dedicated area on its website. Featuring reports direct from the booth, there'll also be a live web cam feed to see the activity as it happens.
Colin McRae Rally 2005, the Club Football 2005 range, Dragon Empires, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II lead the line-up, and Codemasters also promises "a few big surprises".
The core line-up includes:
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (PS2, Xbox) - McRae gets his drive of the year as Codemasters today confirms that Colin McRae Rally 2005, a new addition to the leading rally game series, is in development. The all-new Career Challenge is the steering wheel-gripping heart of Colin McRae Rally 2005 and has players hurtling through over 20 different classes of rally events including Challenges, Cups, SuperCups, Shields and Championships, earning the right to compete against the very best.
IndyCar Series 2005 (PS2, Xbox) - Officially licensed by the Indy Racing League, IndyCar Series 2005 gets a boost with a host of new features to complement the action-packed oval track racing at speeds up to 235mph! It is the only game to feature the full IndyCar Series season including the Indianapolis 500, which allows drivers to compete from Pole Day to Bump Day to race day as one of the 33 drivers in The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
Club Football 2005 (PS2, Xbox, PC) - More clubs join the range this year, which will see an individual and official video game for the top UK and continental European football teams from Manchester United Club Football 2005 to Real Madrid Club Football 2005. Current new English signings to the range are Tottenham Hotspur Club Football 2005, Birmingham City Club Football 2005 with more major clubs still to be announced.
Soldiers: Heroes of World War II (PC) - Play as British, U.S., German or Russian forces, with authentically modelled WWII vehicles, weapons and units - even ammo - and you'll experience the totally realistic penetration physics. Over 25 action-packed missions, inspired by the exploits of World War II heroes, takes the keyboard-smashing frustration out of strategy gaming by enabling players to complete mission objectives in any number of different ways; this is no puzzle game where the 'save' key is everything! Whether you decide to stealth-it-up or go in loud with all guns blazing, victory is there for the taking.
Operation Flashpoint (Xbox) - Developed by Bohemia Interactive Studio, creators of the original PC title, this game will contain the entire original along with an additional prequel campaign called Resistance. Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis is the ultimate realistic war experience. Gameplay enables players to participate in a Cold War conflict just the way they want to and draws the player into a deeply believable military environment. For the first time in such a military game, the player controls and commands not just soldiers and squads of all levels but also land, sea and air vehicles - both military and civilian - from cars, to APCs, to tanks and even military helicopters.
MTV Music Generator 3 (PS2, Xbox) - create and sample original music tracks as well as remix some of the hottest songs from today's biggest hip-hop and electronica artists.
Our team will bring you more on all these games next week.
