Splinter Cell 3: Amazing Video & News
Five minutes of astounding gameplay from Splinter Cell 3 in this direct feed, hi-res video - and some fresh news.
UbiSoft is today celebrating the successful unveiling of by far its biggest title at the recent E3 show, announcing it has picked up three awards for the forthcoming Splinter Cell 3.
The game, which following a patent registration is rumoured to be known in full as Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory, picked up Best PC Game, Best Action/Adventure and Best Commendation for Graphics as part of the Game Critics Awards, voted on by representatives from 35 gaming media outlets.
"Its graphical fidelity was impressive on its own", commented Rob Smith, one of the critics, "helping construct stunningly realistic environments for skulking and stalking. But the standout was the fresh cooperative multiplayer options. Two spies working together, pulling each other into new locations, using each other's skills to access different areas and hanging in the shadows to avoid detection - it's a thing of beauty."
Ubisoft's Montreal studio is crafting what appears to be another action gaming breakthrough. UbiSoft is describing the visuals as "the best graphics in this generation of games" - something not hard to believe when you study the video evidence presented here. Indeed, Ubi's President Yves Guillemot recently said, "we expect Splinter Cell 3 to be the best-looking game on any platform, period, thanks to Ubisoft's incredible command of the latest technologies and visionary creativity."
Splinter Cell 3 promises an even more immersive and interactive environment, innovative gameplay and a completely unique collaborative multiplayer experience. Yves says, "The series evolves to give gamers a new kind of gameplay that ensures the franchise will continue to set standards for the industry."
This utterly stunning direct feed gameplay video lasts nearly five minutes and shows various stealth scenes from the game in hi-res - you will be impressed, we guarantee it.
The story so far goes something like this. The year is 2008. Information Warfare has evolved into the most dangerous threat to global stability. You are Sam Fisher, Third Echelon's most skilled Splinter Cell operative. You are assigned to execute a hazardous series of operations to investigate and eliminate a new source of information attacks, originating in North Korea. To succeed, you will employ a host of unconventional counterintelligence activities to gather intel, disrupt enemy operations and neutralize adversary targets.
As Information Warfare evolves, so must the Splinter Cell. You must penetrate deeper into hostile territory and operate undetected, closer to the enemy than ever before. At your disposal is a lethal array of tactics ranging from Combat Knife techniques, experimental prototype weapons skills, and more radical hand-to-hand techniques such as the Inverted Chokehold. Experience the thrill of acting as a lone operative fighting tomorrow's threats in the field, and of cooperating online with a partner to accomplish crucial missions. Die in action, and the free world dies with you.
Splinter Cell 3 is promising the most complete arsenal of weapons and gadgets, from the combat knife to experimental prototype combat systems, as well as offering substantial replay value with open level design, multipaths and optional "secondary objectives". Also, the A.I. threatens to own your backside, with personal attributes, natural behavior where NPCs are aware of their environment and remember past events.
We'll have much, much more on Splinter Cell 3 over the coming months. Check the video NOW.
