MS Brings Xbox OutRun2 to the US
We told you it would be so. Details inside, along with three new screens to celebrate.
As we exclusively revealed in an interview with AM2 last month, Microsoft will publish Sega's OutRun2 for Xbox in North America, following this year's Pre-E3 shock news that the game was being ported to console by Sega Europe.
Kikizo published a comment accidentaly made in an interview about the planned North American release from Microsoft, but was subsequently asked to remove that part of the interview as it was confidential. Don't believe us? Just check here... In other words, this Sega/Microsoft arrangement has ben in the bag ever since E3, when that interview was carried out. It's just reassuring to know that it was always going to happen, don't you think?
Anyway, enough about Kikizo and its totally superior coverage of OutRun2 - you know all that already. What about today's announcement?
Well for starters it mentioned that the game is in development at Sega-AM2, which isn't strictly true, as we all know by now that the conversion is actually being handled by UK-based Sumo Digital with the assistance of Sega Europe.
Unfortunately there were no other new details or even quote-boat fun, however they did go one better by releasing three new screenshots of the flawless conversion.
Still to come, more definitive details of the mythical new Xbox tracks in the game, which as AM2's Osaki-san revealed in the interview, will be something really special. From what we've been hearing, he's not joking either. Obviously, keep it Kikizo for the first details of that.
