Sudeki Quietly Ships to US Stores
Here are some new screens to mark one of the most unexpectedly quiet firstparty Xbox shipments of the year so far.
The anticipated firstparty Xbox RPG Sudeki began shipping to US retail stores today - although there has been a degree of confusion surrounding the actual release date.
Several independent videogame retailers in the New York area told us that they'll begin selling the game tomorrow (21st) - although the game's release date, a Microsoft spokeperson today confirmed to Kikizo, is actually on Thursday 22nd.
However, confusingly, no online reviews have started to appear, with Microsoft's US PR team keen to hold back the review copies until after the release of the game, leaving some to speculate about the quality of the final game maybe not meeting internal expectations.
The Climax-develoed title has received a whole load of detailed coverage here at Kikizo, most recently in our direct feed gameplay videos and "making of" showdown (click here if you missed that) - and to us, the latest build since E3 looked pretty solid.
In the UK however, the home of the game's developer, confidence seems slightly rosier. The game won't hit UK shelves until August 27, Microsoft told us today, but the UK division seems happy to work with the press to provide retail copies of the American version for testing.
As soon as that happens, we will of course bring you our final verdict. As we've followed the game so closely we're keeping our fingers crossed, but as with Grabbed by the Ghoulies before it, Sudeki is being held from reviewers which might not be a good sign.
