Nintendo DS Software Line-Up Revealed
The company's Redmond, Washington HQ today spilled the beans on over 60 titles from all the big publishers. Details inside.
Following the recent unveiling of the final design for Nintendo DS, and also a massive software line-up for Sony's PSP not so long ago, Nintendo's Redmond, Washington office today anounced an impressive line-up of software for western markets, including a few surprises.
The list, which comprises over 60 titles from pretty much every big publisher, reveals a wealth of support for Nintendo's new handheld.
Nintendo's announcement highlighted Madden NFL and Viewtiful Joe as key franchises coming to the platform, along with Rayman and, er, SpongeBob SquarePants.
Nintendo's now instantly recognisable, name-taking Reggie Fils-Aime, said: "Publishers worldwide have taken the unique creative tools of our dual-screened Nintendo DS and used them to invent completely new ways to play."
EA's Steve Chiang revealed, "EA's studio teams are working on a lot of great titles for the Nintendo DS. With the wireless feature, Madden players will be able to battle one another head-to-head like never before on a portable system."
While Activision's Will Kassoy offered, "Our developers dove right in and made the most of the unique features of this revolutionary new system."
And Brian Farrell of THQ said: "THQ will be a big supporter of the hand-held Nintendo DS. The untapped capabilities demonstrate an exciting leap in hand-held video game technology."
Nintendo announced that in total, over 120 Nintendo DS games are currently in development at publishers world-wide.
