Nico Gets New Name, First Screen
The anticipated follow-up to the mega cult PlayStation hit Ico has been unveiled and will debut fully at TGS.
Kikizo recently caught wind that Nico, the unofficial name for the sequel to Ico (Ni = two in Japanese, geddit?) was just days from an announcement, and it looks like it was true. SCEI has formally named the game as Wanda to Kyozou, translated as "Wanda and Colossus".
However, some fans have reacted with disappointment towards the news that the game isn't a full-on sequel to Ico, with none of the original story's beloved characters.
Instead, Wanda to Kyozou appears to share the same visual style as Ico, while offering two new eponymous characters, as depicted in this first screenshot.
Meanwhile, SCEI has announced Genji, from ex-Capcom designer Yoshiki Okamoto and his newly formed Game Republic studio. The game offers epic battle scenarios between Genji and Heishi set against a feudal 1150s backdrop.
We'll bring you first-hand impressions and videos from both titles direct from Tokyo, when TGS kicks off on September 24th.
