Demento: First Vid of New Capcom Scare
Intriguing new horror title from Capcom unveiled in this debut footage.
Capcom recently announced Demento, a new survival horror romp in which you take on the role of a girl trapped in a strange building with nobody but a demented weirdo for company. Incidentally, this huge, mad being also enjoys jumping out on you from nowhere. It makes for an interesting trailer at the very least.
The main character is no Jill Valentine unfortunately, starting the trailer off half nude and meandering around helplessly before discovering she's trapped in this hell hole. Just as well then that a handly white wolf thing comes along to help her with a range of puzzles and attacking functions.
The wolf/dog thing becomes your only companion as you seek to unravel the mystery of your sorry situation and fend off the ugly freaks littered around the wonderfully designed building.
Demento could prove to be a sleeper hit when it's released soon on PS2, and could offer something fresh in an increasingly tired genre. Be sure to watch this first trailer video below - aside from some cheesy screaming, it's actually pretty good...
Update: Game announced for Europe as Haunting Ground - new screens and details.
