Half-Life 2: New Screenshot Overload
These gorgeous shots from Half-Life 2 surfaced a little while ago. Over 44 new shots!
With the release of Half-Life 2 quite possibly just two weeks away, with most sources currently pointing towards an early November release date in the US, it's time to have a closer look at these lovely new shots.
Of course, this fourth quarter is shaping up to be one of the best ever Christmas holidays for gamers, with the number of AAA titles literally difficult to recall off the top of one's head in any drinking discussion.
However Half-Life 2 is in a slightly more unique position compared to its fourth-quarter heavy-hitter pals, in that it's only for PC right now (with the Xbox conversion expected next year), and also because it's been offered for download through the Steam service.
Those who purchase the game via Steam will receive the final version of Counter-Strike: Source immediately. Half-Life 2 and other games in the Steam offerings will be made available to purchasers upon their release - possibly in as early as two weeks' time.
There are three levels of Steam purchase, with the top package, Gold, at a price point of $89.95, offering incredible value with everything from the main game, CounterStrike: Source, Half-Life 1: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Valve's back catalogue, the Official Strategy Guide, plus an official Soundtrack CD and some tat - such as posters and stickers.
Not that we're getting carried away with all the excitement, but we though now might be a good time to post these 44 awesome new screens of the game, showing many new areas to be explored within Half-Life 2.
