New Sounds for GTA: San Andreas
Official Soundtrack details emerge.
One of the more unique aspects of recent Grand Theft Auto games, especially Vice City, has been the surplus of good music on offer. Where GTA: Vice City painted a musical landscape of the 80s, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is looking to do the same for the 90s.
Music in GTA: San Andreas will arrive courtesy of ten in-game radio stations. These run the musical gamut from light rock and reggae to pop and rap, and each is hosted by a charismatic DJ. Much like GTA: Vice City, Rockstar is planning a soundtrack to accompany GTA: San Andreas.
A 2-CD boxset filled with music from the 90s will be released by Interscope Records in late November. A full track listing is expected next week, but information from Rockstar confirms appearances by such diverse artists as James Brown, Rage Against the Machine, Willie Nelson and 2Pac.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is set for release on 29 October for the PlayStation 2.
