EverQuest II Snags Hollywood Voices
Christopher Lee and Heather Graham included.
In addition to ruining marriages and causing people to lose their jobs, EverQuest is also a highly successful MMORPG. Work on the sequel - EverQuest II, natch - is well underway, and the game's marketing campaign is already up and running. Ubisoft and Sony Online Entertainment announced Friday that it has secured actors Christopher Lee and Heather Graham to voice key players in the upcoming title.
Lee, hot off stints in blockbuster series Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, will bring to life the millennium-old leader of nasty town Freeport, Lucan D'Lere. Thematically opposed is the vivacious leader of the good guys, Antonia Bayle, who will be portrayed by Boogie Nights and Austin Powers star Graham.
Lee and Graham will, however, play small roles when the scope of dialogue in EverQuest 2 is considered. Over 70,000 lines of dialogue, totalling around 130 hours, will be spoken by more than 1,700 voice actors, raising the bar considerably for MMORPGs to come.
