Gran Turismo 4 Pushed Back to 2005
Euro release delayed, and still no online.
The oft-delayed release of Gran Turismo 4 for PlayStation 2 has suffered the same fate yet again. Sony announced on Thursday that the game will miss its scheduled release date this December and will now ship to stores in the first quarter of 2005.
The reason given for the delay is the additional work required to localize the game for the European territory. Gran Turismo 4 is being translated into 13 languages, a task that is proving too enormous to complete in time for the holiday season.
This comes as an additional blow to European fans of Polyphony Digital's driving simulator. At September's Tokyo Game Show, the game's producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, revealed that all online components have been removed from Gran Turismo 4. An online version of the game is, however, planned for release in 2005.
