FIFA Back on Top in UK
Pro Evo 4 bows to FIFA brand power.
Industry analyst group Chart Track has revealed the newest batch of entertainment software sales figures for the UK. After only a week on the market, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 4 has fallen victim to the mainstream appeal of EA's FIFA 2005. With no major new releases last week, save for Codemasters' LMA Manager 2005, FIFA 2005 retook the top spot, pushing Pro Evolution Soccer 4 down a position.
Further down the chart, Activision's Tony Hawk's Underground 2 showed resilience, hanging on to the third position. LucasArts' Star Wars: Battlefront also benefited from the lack of new big games by climbing back up to fourth place, while EA's juggernaut franchise entry The Sims 2 gained a position to round out the top five.
Here's the top 10 for the week ending 23 October:
- FIFA 2005 (EA)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Konami)
- Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (Activision)
- Star Wars: Battlefront (LucasArts)
- The Sims 2 (EA)
- Burnout 3: Takedown (EA)
- LMA Manager 2005 (Codemasters)
- Shark Tale (Activision)
- Pokémon Fire Red (Nintendo)
- Pokémon Leaf Green (Nintendo)
