Climax Shows Off Next Generation Title
New project Avalon to be demoed in the US.
Climax has announced that it will soon be demonstrating its next-generation title Avalon to select publishers in the US. The development team has self-funded work on the playable prototype and will now search for support from a publisher to bring the game to customers in the next hardware generation.
Avalon is a multiplayer, vehicle-based action shooter based in the near future that, according to the creators, contains a "unique and original twist".
"Climax's ability to self-fund the prototype has produced huge strides in development, which has allowed Avalon to be fully playable before the game is even presented to publishers," said Climax’s US president, Tony Beckwith.
This announcement makes Climax one of but a handful of developers that has publicly confirmed it is working on next-generation software.
Previously, Koei and Starbreeze have made similar announcements.
Climax has been developing games since 1988. Some of its most recent releases include Sudeki, ATV Offroad Fury 3 and the Moto GP series.
