GTA: San Andreas Continues to Dominate
A million copies sold in UK - ChartTrack
In just nine days since it saw release, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has sold over a million copies in the UK, according to industry analyst group Chart Track.
The game's record-breaking opening weekend was extended through the week ending 6 November, and it now stands as the fourth best-selling PlayStation 2 game during the console's lifetime.
Elsewhere on the chart, Football Manager 2005 by Sega and Sports Interactive was the major new entry, coming in third, just behind EA's resilient FIFA 2005.
The top five is rounded out by Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 4 in fourth position and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 in fifth.
In a market dominated by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, few publishers saw fit to release new products, but EA did send out Lord Of the Rings: The Third Age, which only managed to capture the 12th spot.
All eyes are now on Microsoft and its Halo 2, which arrives in the UK on Thursday, 11 November.
