The Getaway 2: Huge Media Blowout

We've been playing Black Monday to bring you impressions, plus lovely videos and screens.

Tomorrow sees the release of one of Sony's most eagerly awaited sequels this year - The Getaway: Black Monday. Developed by Team Soho, Black Monday improves upon a few problematic areas of the original while offering a brand characters and a great story.

The game is still set in London, and although London looks pretty much the same as it did in the first Getaway, this time we're able to explore it in more depth - for example, chasing down the bad guys in scrap yards and even going into the depths of Holborn tube station to chase down the criminal scum.

Unlike the first Getaway, which saw you start as the street hardman and then swap to play the role of the police, The Getaway 2 starts off with you as Sergeant Mitchell before taking on the role of Eddie, as well as a third playable character, seasoned thief Sam.

The game opens up well and quickly picks up pace to unfold a well written story that benefits from high quality voice acting and even a decent script.

The Getaway Black Monday is released tomorrow in the UK and hits the States early next year.
