Halo 2 With a Mouse & Keyboard!
Along with any other first-person-shooter for Xbox and PS2 for that matter. Details inside!
Tired of people telling you how first-person-shooters are better on PCs all the time? You know, with the hardcore mega graphics card set-up and generally specced up to the high heavens? What about the smug face of your PC gaming friend who swears by the mouse and keyboard combo beating even the most cosy joypad controls - such as those seen in Halo 2 - hands down? Or maybe you are this person, just aching to play Halo 2 as it would be on your PC?
Well we've been putting a brand new product through its paces that lets you play with a mouse and keyboard not just on Halo 2, but on any first-person-shooter available for the system - and there's a PS2 version available as well for fantastic shooters such as Killzone.
It's called the SmartJoy Frag and it really does the job! Simply plug it in to your Xbox or PS2 controller port, then whack in a keyboard and mouse, and you're away. You can forget about it taking all day to turn 180 degrees or laborious configuration processes, as this baby has a whole load of built-in features.
We've been testing the Xbox version with (obviously) Halo 2 and the PS2 version with our final PAL copy of Killzone, and the gadget works like a dream. Of course you'll want to plug in a decent keyboard and mouse to get the most out of it, but the fact that SmartJoy Frag supports everything including USB keyboards and mice (provided you have the USB to PS/2 adaptor) and also optical and wireless mice.
Not only that, but it works with consoles from all regions (Japan, Europe and US) and best of all, has built in configurations for the most popular games already on the market. However, you can extensively customise your keyboard and mouse set-ups, including full support of the mouse wheel.
The performance is superb and the bottom line is that, if you're a keen FPS console gamer, you need to check this out. And at under $30 from Lik-Sang, it's a steal. Head over there now to get hold of yours (and thanks guys for our sample units!)
