Valve and Alienware Team Up
Custom PC designed specifically for HL2.
As anxious PC gamers sit waiting for Valve to give the release of Half-Life 2 the go ahead, Alienware and Valve have announced the Aurora City 17, a custom PC designed specifically with the developer's new shooter in mind.
Alienware's Stefan Konopatzki explains: "While waiting for Half-Life 2 with as much excitement as everybody else we asked what gaming system can we create that will be the ultimate Half-Life 2 machine?"
"Obviously the best people to help were Valve and we're delighted that they assisted us in the creation of the Alienware Aurora City 17. The result is an amazing one-off computer system with all the power needed to show off this amazing game."
Sporting a 256MB ATI Radeon X800XT video card, 2GB of RAM, twin 10,000RPM hard drives and AMD's new Athlon 64 FX-55 processor, the computer was designed to literally give you the best experience possible in Half-Life 2.
All this technology comes at a price though - £2870 to be precise.
And why would you want to hand over nearly three thousand pounds for a computer?
"While we designed Half-Life 2 to be playable on lower specification machines, for those that want the ultimate experience, the Alienware Aurora City 17 delivers," said Valve Marketing Director Doug Lombardi.
Half-Life 2 is released exclusively for PC on Tuesday, 16 November.
