High Tech Gadgets for Ghost Recon 2
With sophisticated modern warfare toys.
Tom Clancy is well known for writing meticulous novels that present both current and upcoming military technology, and the games that bear his name are no different.
Ghost Recon 2, the upcoming action game from Ubisoft, will feature some of the most sophisticated technology available in modern warfare.
The new over-the-shoulder camera angle will give players a good look at the Integrated Warfighter System, a battlefield suit that monitors the soldier's heart rate even as it deflects bullets, heat and chemical agents.
The principal new weapon is the M29, a multifunctional rifle that has both automatic fire and airblast grenade capabilities. These grenades can be detonated mid-flight, making it easier to eliminate enemies in hiding.
The game also features a host of other new technological advances, like head bone-conduction communication and Future Force Warrior camouflage, all of which are currently used by the US military or are in development.
Ghost Recon 2 is being developed by Red Storm Entertainment, the same studio responsible for the critically acclaimed Rainbow Six 3.
The game offers a singleplayer campaign and also multiplayer with up to 15 other people.
Ghost Recon 2 will be released in the UK for PlayStation 2 and Xbox on 26 November.
