EA and UEFA Bring League to You
EA keeps official Champions League license.
EA announced on Friday that it has extended its licensing agreement with European football body UEFA. The deal will see EA develop and publish the official game for the Champions League 2004-2005 season.
"We are thrilled to team up with Electronic Arts on bringing the most prestigious European club competition to football enthusiasts of all ages" said Lars-Christer Olsson, CEO of UEFA.
"Our close collaboration throughout the development of this game has ensured that players will be able to experience the most life-like rendition of the UEFA Champions League in a game format."
UEFA Champions League 2004-2005 is being developed by a new team based at EA's Vancouver, Canada, studios and will allow players to play the full season, from opening night to the closing ceremony.
The game will feature around 240 club teams from across Europe, including the English Premiership and Football League.
Fifty objective-based missions taking place both on and off the pitch will gussy up the gameplay, and, according to EA, give even lower teams a chance at glory.
UEFA Champions League 2004-2005 will be released for Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube and PC in February 2005.
