Valve Admits Half-Life 2 Glitch
Doug Lombardi promises patch via Steam.
Picture the scenario: you're in control of Gordon Freeman in Valve's hit PC game Half-Life 2, you kill another of the alien scum, and you race around a corner. And then it hits - the stuttering.
Since the game launched earlier this month, there have been complaints that Valve's big-name sequel contains a bug that causes the game to occasionally suffer massive graphics frame-rate drops and audio looping after certain actions, like entering new areas or turning corners.
This is particularly disconcerting as Half-Life 2 is responsible for many PC gamers upgrading their hardware in an attempt to side-step any graphics issues.
Valve admitted this week that this is a known defect in the game and it is working to fix the problem as soon as possible.
Speaking to GameSpot, Valve's Doug Lombardi said that when the patch arrives, it would likely only be available through Valve's online service, Steam.
