Need For Speed Outruns the Pack
EA's racer proving a tough one to beat.
Last year, Need For Speed Underground parlayed its funky exterior and hip car-modifying gameplay to garner itself the top sales spot in the UK for 2003.
ONG OMG OMG!!!11one!!
With the majority of the big releases for 2004 now on the shelves, the sequel has successfully fended off Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a second week running to retain the premiere position in the Chart Track weekly sales chart.
But the major gainer again this week is movie tie-in The Incredibles, which has cashed in on the film's UK box office success and nearly doubled its performance from the previous week, moving it all the way up to the fourth position.
The only new top 10 entry this week is Call Of Duty: Finest Hour, the latest in a seemingly never-ending string of WWII titles.
The game has been well received by critics, but with the current top five stealing mind share from anything that dares goes against them, it's a tough market for a new game to try to carve out a profit.
Here are the top 10 games in the UK for the week ending 4 December.
- Need For Speed: Underground 2 (EA)
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar)
- FIFA 2005 (EA)
- The Incredibles (THQ)
- Call Of Duty: Finest Hour (Activision)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Konami)
- GoldenEye: Rogue Agent (EA)
- Halo 2 (Microsoft)
- WWE: SmackDown! Vs RAW (THQ)
- The Getaway: Black Monday (SCEE)
