Metal Slug Shoots on to GBA
Traditional gameplay with new features.
December is usually a quiet time for new releases, the majority of the big guns having been released a few weeks earlier already in order to squeeze every last pound from Christmas season shoppers.
But there are still some companies willing to throw caution to the wind, especially when their products are rather niche and will thus be found by fans no matter when they happen to arrive on shelves.
One such product is Metal Slug Advance, the debut Game Boy Advance instalment in SNK's long-running 2D shooter franchise.
Metal Slug Advance melds the decidedly traditional, some might say archaic, pick-up-and-play gameplay mechanics the series has become known for with new features, such as collectible cards.
"Metal Slug Advance is a new slant on one of SNK's most loved games," says Peter Rollinson of publisher Ignition.
"We're delighted to be able to bring this original and brand-new instalment to the European public for the first time."
Metal Slug Advance will be released in Europe on 17 December only for Game Boy Advance.
