Sony Goes MediEvil on the PSP
Bone rattling for the first time since the PS1 original, thanks to Sony.
The skeletal Sir Dan Fortesque made for an unlikely action-adventure game hero in his PlayStation debut MediEvil in the late 90s, and despite missing the whole PlayStation 2 generation, Sony has brought him back to life for bone-rattling duty on the PSP.
MediEvil is being worked on by mostly a new team - lead artist Mitch Phillips is back for another go, so fans of Sir Dan can expect to feel comfortable from the get go.
That's not the only returning feature though. Sir Dan returns to the game's world of Gallowmere only to find that his nemesis, the sorcerer Zarok, is once again running amok.
MediEvil for PSP is basically a re-imagining of the original PlayStation game, though with all new art, an enhanced and deeper story and all the bells and whistles expected from a portable game, like save-anywhere support and WiFi-compatible mini-games.
MediEvil is currently on track for release in spring 2005 exclusively on PSP.
